There’s a new kind of housing coming to Bridgewater!
Cohousing is a specific type of housing that blends home ownership with community-oriented living. It consists of complete private homes (eg. bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, etc), supplemented by extensive shared facilities (eg. kitchen, dining room, child care facilities, offices, guest rooms, gardens, workshops, etc). The housing is planned, owned and managed by the residents – who also share activities which may include cooking, dining, child care, gardening, and governance of the community.
There is a group planning to build a 8-15 unit cohousing development, centrally-located in Bridgewater. The group is seeking new members, and invites anyone who would like to find out a bit more to get in touch with them.
